How to make a Lavender and Vanilla Soy Candle

For many winter and summer holidays are coming up and most of us are looking for that special gift to give to someone.

Lavender and Vanilla fragrance offers a relaxing sent very aroma therapy type smell and is perfect for those meditation moments.

What you will need:

- Soy Wax (you can get this online or at your local craft shop, if you are in Australia or New Zealand you can get these at Spotlight or at candlesupply.co.nz).

- Something to put you candle in like a tea cup or a nice water glass (I like to get mine from the second hand shop).

- String for a wick (nice and semi thick!).

- Fragrance oils (Lavender and Vanilla).

- Nice ribbon of your choice to wrap around it.

- A metal bowl you don't mind melting wax in.

- A pot with water in it.

- Kabab sticks cut in half.

1. put your metal bowl over the pot with water in it, so that it is able to melt the wax, keep your stove on its medium temperature so that you don't melt the wax too quickly.

2. Once your wax has melted add in your fragrances, a cap-full of Vanilla and three caps-full of Lavender. Leave the wax to cool a bit.

3. Measure your wick and tie part of it around your Kabab stick. [Pictured below].

4. Start to pour in your wax. Once poured put it in the fridge for cooling our if you are more patient leave it out to harden. Just be aware that that when pouring your wax it is a good idea to pour over your wick as well. this way when it dries that it doesn't create a kind of crater when it hardens.

Enjoy making your candles, and try using other fragences if you can!
